Can you believe the Summer is over already?

It's been a really busy one here at Mill Farm and the time has flown by, but we've loved meeting all of our new guests and welcoming back lots of you who've stayed with us before. Our returning guests especially, have noticed the improvements we've been making over the past couple of years and it's so satisfying to hear all of their wonderful compliments.

Of course we'll always have work to do and we've already begun a bit of a revamp of the driveway, taking out a couple of large fir trees that had outgrown their space and adding a flower border in their place, (much prettier).

We've also removed an old greenhouse from the drive and made way for some extra parking, which is always useful...Especially as we've had quite a few guests with electric vehicles, and we're going to be adding another EV charging point too.

We won't be wasting the greenhouse though as we'll pop it in our back garden and we may even have some fresh veggies to share next year.

The routine maintenance jobs, like cutting the grass and weeding the lake, will always keep us busy but the bonus is all that weed and grass makes great compost for our plants...So nothing is wasted.

It's not been all work though and we make sure we find the time to pop to our local beaches, especially as our dog Bailey loves a paddle. This one is Black Rock at Widemouth and the sunsets here can be absolute stunners.

We also have a couple of places not far from Mill Farm, that we plan to visit soon, like Lynton and Lynmouth...Otherwise known as 'Little Switzerland'. Famous for its stunning scenery and the world's highest and steepest water powered cliff railway.

There's also a lovely walk to Watersmeet along the East Lyn River where you'll find the National Trust property Watersmeet House. Here you can enjoy a lovely cuppa and a bit of cake to fortify you before the return trip.

If you fancy treating yourself to a break before the end of the year, we still have some availability and both the coast and countryside are particularly beautiful in Autumn. Oh, and if you subscribe to our mailing list you'll get a discount too!

Well, I'm off to give Neil a hand planting some trees, another project...And hopefully we'll be welcoming you to

Mill Farm Soon! Gill x
