You can enjoy amazing views across the lake from your sofa and relax in your own private, fenced garden, as the kingfisher darts across the water and the fish splash among the water lilies...And with your fridge just meters away, you'll always have chilled drink on hand if you need to cool down in the sunshine.
I you fish then there are two purpose built decks on the lake and it's well stocked with several species of Carp, plus Roach, Rudd, Perch, Tench and Bream, and as angling is only for guests, the fish are in pristine condition. (If you're looking for some really big Carp, then Tamar Lakes is just a 5 min drive away).
Or you may prefer to simply feed the fish, (we provide fish food) and watch them as they lazily swim by to scoop up their tasty treats... It's incredibly relaxing, especially on a warm Summer's afternoon.
If you're feeling a little more energetic then you can continue your stroll around the lake and up into the fields, where you'll find our friendly alpacas, (you'll get to meet them properly and hand-feed them during your complimentary alpaca experience). There's also a tucked away area for campfires and a picnic bench with stunning views out over the beautiful Devon countryside.
When it comes to dinnertime, although you'll have a beautiful and fully equipped kitchen, you may prefer to wander 5 mins up the road to our local village and try the menu in our lovely traditional pub...The big plus with it being within strolling distance is that no one has to drive and everyone can enjoy a drink or two with their meal.
There are also other food options as we have several take away vans visiting the village square throughout the week, plus two grocery stores and a butchers, so you won't go hungry.
If all this seems a little too relaxing and you decide to visit the beach then you have several to choose from, our nearest being Sandymouth. As you can guess from the name, when the tide is out there are miles of sand to enjoy and it has some fabulous rock pools to explore too. Sandymouth is also dog friendly all year round, so all of your family members can get sandy toes.
Mill Farm is also just a short drive from the seaside towns of both Bude in Cornwall and Westward Ho! in Devon, and they each have fabulous beaches, cafes and restaurants. In fact there are six beautiful beaches all with 30 mins of Mill Farm and there are also two adventure parks, a wake park, plus Segway, surfing, kayaking, sailing, archery, blacksmithing, pottery, painting and horse riding...So plenty to keep everyone entertained.
