Can I take my dog?

Is the area accommodating to dogs? Are there any pubs or cafes that welcome dogs? Are dogs permitted on the beach? Are there nearby attractions that are dog-friendly? Is it free for dogs to stay? Are dogs allowed to rest on the sofas? Is the garden enclosed? Is it possible to bring multiple dogs?

These are the questions we consider when planning vacations that involve our four-legged family members, and fortunately, the answer is yes to all of them when you book a stay at Mill Farm.

All three of our stunning lakeside properties welcome dogs, allowing up to two Labrador-sized dogs per property, with the possibility of accommodating more smaller dogs upon request.

All gardens are enclosed with 6ft high solid wood fencing on either side and approximately 1m high small hole mesh fencing elsewhere, to preserve the view. This allows you to relax and enjoy the breathtaking lake scenery while your dog relaxes on the lawn. It also makes nighttime toilet trips convenient. Additionally, you're invited to explore the beautiful grounds with your dog on a lead.

We offer sofa covers inside, allowing you to cuddle with your dog just like at home. Additionally, we provide food and water bowls, along with a few treats. Outside, there's a dog wash available for rinsing off sandy paws after beach outings, and you'll find plenty of beaches to choose from, including the nearest one, which is off-lead and dog-friendly throughout the year!

Sandymouth, as its name suggests offers miles of amazing sandy beach and plenty of rock pools to explore too. There's a lovely cafe providing great food and drink and if you're a National Trust member then parking is free!

Located on the border between North Devon and North Cornwall, you have an abundance of options for stunning coastlines. In addition to the South West Coast Path, you can visit beaches such as Westward Ho!, Instow, Saunton Sands, and Woolacombe in Devon, as well as Welcombe, Northcott, Summerleaze, Widemouth (at Black Rock), and Watergate Bay in Cornwall.

Then for countryside walks, you can enjoy the stunning moors, with Dartmoor, Exmoor, and Bodmin all located within an hour's drive from Mill Farm.

After all your exploring, you'll be glad to hear that there are numerous dog-friendly eateries nearby, including our village pub, which is only a 5-minute walk away!
