Meet The Alpacas!

Barn Based and Walking Options.

Mill Farm, Bradworthy, Holsworthy, Devon. EX22 7RX

Come and spend a magical hour getting to know our six gorgeous alpaca boys at Mill Farm, here on the North Devon-Cornwall border.
Your experience will be totally private and just for your group, so you'll have the boys all to yourselves!
We'll start with a safety talk in our lovely rustic barn and then you can get acquainted with the alpacas, as we tell you some interesting alpaca facts.

Then, if you choose the experience with a short walk included, (please check on age restrictions before you select this ticket option), we'll halter the boys up and you can lead them on a short walk across their field, taking in some stunning countryside views as you go. The walk will be very much at the alpacas pace, (slow), and there'll be plenty of time for selfies along the way.

Once back in the barn we'll introduce some treats that you can reward your alpacas with and then you can hang out in their very relaxing company. Finally, if you can tear yourself away from the boys, we have six cute little Guinea pigs that also enjoy some fuss.
If this sounds like a wonderful way to while away an hour...(There's even a fabulous country pub in the village square, just a 1 min drive away for afterwards!) Then please see below for our ticket options.

Please make sure that you check any age restrictions before booking and also read our guidance on suitable clothing and footwear.

Walking is dependent on the weather as the alpacas don't enjoy heavy rain, or very windy conditions, (and neither do we!) Should we need to cancel a walk, your experience will be wholly barn based instead.

What do I wear?

Please don't wear your best clothes as we'll be in a barn environment and although usually fluffy and gorgeous, the alpacas can occasionally be a bit soggy and covered in hay. If you are walking an alpaca then it's best not to wear anything that might flap around in the wind as they can get spooked. Please wear fully enclosed shoes. Trainers, walking boots or wellies are ideal for the field/barn environment as the ground is uneven in places.

Barn Based Experience -There are no age restrictions for our wholly 'Barn Based' experience but we require at least 1 adult per 3 children and very young children are required to remain behind a barrier for safety reasons...Although they will still be able to feed the alpacas.
Barn + Walking Experience - Children must be aged 12 years or older to take part in an alpaca walk. Alpacas can get spooked and a calm quiet approach is needed. If booking a 'Walking' ticket all parties must participate and be old enough to do so. (12 years +). We cannot leave anyone behind unsupervised in the barn.

Alpacas can kick and spit if provoked, although our boys are generally on their best behaviour.

Parking provided for 2 cars maximum.
Hand washing facilities on site. No toilet facilities. (There is a public convenience in the village 1 minutes drive away).
We regret no dogs on site due to livestock.
