FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do you provide towels and bedding?​

Yes, all bedding, towels and tea towels are provided. We do however ask that you don’t take our towels out of the property and that you bring your own for the beach etc.

 

Do you provide a washing machine?​

Yes, we have a shared laundry space adjacent to Otter Cottage, where you’ll find a washing machine and a tumble dryer, (We also supply you with a couple of laundry tablets as our waste water treatment plant is sensitive).

You’ll find a folding airer and wash basket in your property too.

Do you provide an iron and iron board?​

No, I’m afraid not.

​

Do you provide a welcome pack?

Yes, we provide you with a few bits to get you started, tea, coffee, milk etc. Plus washing-up-liquid, dish sponge,

hand wash in the bathroom and a couple of toilet rolls.

​

Do you allow dogs?​

Yes, we allow up to 2 medium-sized dogs, (over the age of 1 year), per property. (Please contact us if you would like to bring more than 2, smaller dogs and we will do our best to accommodate you.)​

We just ask that they don’t go on the beds, but we do provide covers so that they can snuggle up with you on the sofa.

We also ask that dogs are kept on a lead within our grounds at all times as we have livestock.

Can we leave our dog in the property, or garden while we go out?​

Sorry, no. We ask that they are never left alone in the property, or in your garden but we can provide you with details of local boarding kennels.

Do you have somewhere to wash dogs?​

Yes, we have a dog/boot wash area at the rear of Kingfisher Cabin.

​

Do the properties have gardens?​

Yes, each property has a fenced garden, (around 1m high at its lowest point), with an area of lawn and deck.

We have done our best to secure the area without spoiling the fabulous views of the lake.

 

Do you have WI-FI?​

Yes, we provide free WI-FI and our guests have successfully used their Netflix accounts on the TV’s and also used the WI-FI for remote working with no issues.

Do the properties have parking spaces?​

Yes, each property has its own off road parking for one car adjacent to the property.

Further parking is available by arrangement.

​

Are there any food shops nearby?​

Yes, we have 2 grocery stores in the village, (5min walk), and our nearest supermarket is Waitrose in Holsworthy.

​

Do Tesco etc. deliver?​

We have had deliveries from Tesco and Asda here in the past but you will need to check with your individual supermarket.

Our postcode is EX22 7RX and our address is Four Seasons, Mill Farm, Bradworthy, Holsworthy, but please specify on your order the name of your holiday let too.

Please note that we are unable to take in any deliveries for you and you must make sure that they don’t arrive before you do!

How big is the freezer section in the fridge provided?​

The freezer compartment capacity is approx. 26 litres.

​

Are there any takeaway/restaurants nearby?​

As well as our village pub, (The Bradworthy Inn), we also have several take-away vans visiting the village square during the week. We have provided a list of these and local eateries in the welcome folder in your property but we recommend that you check their websites for current opening hours.

​

Is there anywhere to leave our bikes?​

Although we are unable to provide secure storage for bikes,previous guests have left them in their gardens, (at their own risk), with no issues.

​

Can I charge my electric car?​

Yes. There is a EV charger available on site and it is a ZAPPI 7kw untethered (Pay as you go).
 There are also charging points in 12 Victoria Square, Holsworthy, and you can find one in Bencoolen Road, Bude.

 

Can we meet the alpacas?​

Yes, in fact a complimentary alpaca experience for your party is included with your booking!

Currently, there is no need to book in advance. Just let us know that you’d like to meet them when you arrive and we’ll arrange a time for you. (Please don’t feed the alpacas if you see them in their field, as they have a special diet and some foods are very poisonous to them!)

 

Is fishing included?​

Yes, fishing in our private lake is included in your stay but you will need a valid rod licence.

These can be a day pass or a full week. Please visit the Environment Agency website for more details.

We don’t provide rods but we do have a couple of landing nets and an unhooking mat that you are welcome to borrow. We ask that all fishing tackle is sanitised with the spray provided in the ‘Riverside Retreat’, in order to ensure the bio-security of our lake, and that you use barbless hooks.

The lake is stocked with several species of Carp, including Common, Linear and Mirror. We also have Perch, Roach, Rudd and Bream.

 

Can we swim/boat on the lake?​

Sorry no. Our insurance won’t allow any activity other than fishing from the decks.

 

How/Where do we have a campfire?​

Walk around the lake and up in the fields and you will see the entrance to our campfire site.

There you will find a fire bowl, and campfire shelter. Under the seat of the shelter is a black box, (one for each property), containing several logs and a bundle of kindling with firelighters in the centre.

The matches will be in your kitchen on the shelves, (in Otter Cottage they are in the cupboard above the sink).

The marshmallows and skewers are in your welcome pack. For safety all fires must be in the fire bowl only please.

 

Can we have visitors?

Sorry no. Only those on your original booking are permitted on our premises due to our insurance terms.

 

Do you live on-site?​

Yes and we will pop and see you at some point to make sure that all is well.

We will however give you your privacy during your stay. If you need help during your stay you can contact us on 07759931216 during office hours only please, (unless of course it is an emergency)

What are your check in / check out times?​

To enable us to maintain our high standards we need time for our team to fully prepare your accommodation, therefore check in is after 16:30hrs and check out is by 09:30hrs please.
